The Forbidden Realm

This is my entry for the 2012 BRAWL contest, this years theme was "Forbidden" and I decided to take that theme in a couple of different ways, firstly I approached the theme from an aesthetic level, with the main character in the film visiting a place referred to as "The Forbidden Realm" where all the ideas that the almighty being known as the Animator has forgotten about go to be forgotten.
On a more personal note in the film I did some things that I had forbid myself from doing, for example breaking the fourth wall in the way that I did, with the minifigure going off the baseplate and exploring my desk. I'd also said that I would never use myself in an animation, yet in this entry I decided it would be fitting to break my own rules and go with it as it fitted my interpretation of the theme! This probably isn't some of my best work, given the time constraints, but I think i've come up with a fair entry this week, and I tried several completely new techniques in this video that I had never tried before with the knowledge that if I messed up I wouldn't have much time to correct myself!

Irregardless here's my entry, I had great fun making it and look forward to more contests like this in the future when i'll hopefully be a more skilled animator!
